His royal highness Prince Arnold Kufulula has stated that the Congo forest can help Africa in its fight against affect climate change by restoring its landscapes and investing in low-carbon transport.
The heir to the Congo Bapindi Kingdom made this known in an exclusive interview with DA News, saying Congo has the second largest forest in the world and can come to good use in the continent’s fight against the effects of climate change.
Also known as the Prince of Bapindi and Wolf of Congo he said the is an urgent need for the African Union to set in motion that will lead to the development of the forest and its resources.
According to him “Africa has suffered devastating effects of Climate change despite its few contributions to its causes.
The continent needs to begin shifting the climate challenges, I support focusing on investing in Congo’s forests and its resources.
“I propose that the next COP after UAE be held in Congo, it is my opinion that our forest can help contribute to some helpful solutions,” he said.
Prince Kufulula while lending his voice on the effect of climate change on Women and Girls who are major victims in Sub Sahara Africa urged the government to create special grants for households to help cushion its effects.
“The government can create special grants for households that can help them stalk up on resources needed when emergency weather or challenging situations present themselves,” he said.
