President Tinubu Nominates Governor Adeleke to Strengthen Nigeria’s Climate Stand at COP28

As part of efforts at strengthening Nigeria’s representation at the forthcoming 28th session of the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties in the UAE, President Bola Tinubu has nominated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Adeleke, as part of the nation’s delegation.

The Osun State Governor’s Climate Advisory Council, via its official X App handle, @OsunClimateC, made this known to the public.

The information was also corroborated on Governor Adeleke’s personal handle, @AAdeleke_01, affirming the President’s recognition of the Governor’s commitment to climate action at the subnational level.

The statement published on the social media platforms read: “In recognition of Governor @AAdeleke_01 commitment to climate action at the subnational level, President @officialABAT has nominated Osun Governor as part of Nigeria’s delegation to #COP28”.

Governor Adeleke, who is widely acclaimed for his environmental awareness initiatives at the state level, is expected to bring a wealth of experience to the delegation.

 

His track record in environmental matters and climate change action is believed will greatly contribute to the country’s stand at the conference.

The UN Climate Change Conference, a critical assembly of world leaders and experts, is geared towards fostering collaborations among nations to mitigate the impact of climate change.
