Dare Akogun is an Investigative and Multimedia journalist with an interest in Climate reporting. He is the Head of Digital Media, Senior News Editor, and a Presenter with Sobi 101.9 FM Ilorin.
He holds a Master’s in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos and a BSc in Journalism from the Lagos State University. Dare Akogun has 11+ years of experience in the media both Print and Broadcast media which cut across reporting, live commentary, program presentation, and news editing and Production, focusing on Climate Change, Good Governance, Development, and Social Justice.
He is a 2022 CAPPA Transfat Fellow, a 2021 Fellow of the Dubawa Kwame Kakari Fact Checking Fellowship, and has been on the Open Contract Reporting Project of the ICIR since 2020. He is also a member of the largest fact-checking network in Africa, the African Fact-checking Alliance.
He is passionate about Global warming and he is an advocate of a reduction in the burning of fossil fuels, especially coal, which is one of the major contributing factors to global warming. He has won reporting grants from the International Centre for Investigative Reporting, ICIR, and CAPPA.
