The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd), Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, has pledged to pursue transformative collaborations with key stakeholders in order to deliver on the strategic mandate assigned to him by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In a statement by the company’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, made available to newsmen stated that Ojulari made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Minister of Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, in Abuja on Wednesday.
Ojulari expressed his administration’s readiness to work closely with relevant government institutions to reposition the oil and gas sector.
According to him, effective delivery of NNPC Ltd’s mandate will require not only technical expertise but also strategic synergy with the Ministries of Petroleum and Finance, among others.
“We are here with a mindset of partnership partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, with the Ministry of Finance, and with all other critical stakeholders. Our goal is to bridge gaps, foster alignment, and move forward with a united front. Antagonism benefits no one; collaboration is how we win,” Ojulari stated.
He stressed the importance of breaking through bureaucratic obstacles, aligning on national priorities, and implementing solutions that deliver value to Nigerians and ensure sustainable growth of the petroleum industry.
In his response, Senator Lokpobiri commended Ojulari and the newly constituted executive leadership of NNPC Ltd, describing the team as one of the most competent the company has ever had.
“This is arguably the strongest leadership team NNPC Ltd has ever assembled.
“Now is the time to translate that reputation into measurable results, especially in increasing crude oil production and ensuring the sector delivers optimal value to the Nigerian people.”
He expressed confidence in Ojulari’s ability to deliver on the job, stating that many members of the team were already known to him through years of professional interactions, and their reputations for excellence precede them.
Lokpobiri also assured the GCEO of his full support and guidance, pledging to work hand in hand with NNPC Ltd to create the right environment for reforms and investments to thrive.
“This renewed collaboration between NNPC Ltd and the Federal Government is timely and critical,”
“We are committed to ensuring that Nigeria regains its leading position in global crude oil production and local refining capacity,” the minister said.
