My recent trip to Baku, Azerbaijan, was nothing short of amazing! Before embarking on the journey, I had some reservations about safety and the availability of amenities like 24-hour electricity.
But upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by how developed and modern Baku is.
The hospitality I experienced was beyond remarkable. Even the police officers were approachable and willing to help;
I could comfortably ask to borrow their phones if necessary. The metro system and overall transportation infrastructure were highly efficient, reflecting the city’s progressive development.
My Airbnb host added a special touch to my stay. They went out of their way to ensure my comfort, leaving a basket of fresh fruit on the dining table and frequently checking in to ask if I was okay.
The fridge was always stocked a thoughtful gesture I’ve never experienced in any other Airbnb.
Excited to explore Baku’s beaches, I packed my shorts, only to be surprised by the chilly, almost England-like weather. It was cold, but that didn’t diminish the charm of the city, which truly comes alive at night. The way Baku lights up is a sight to behold!
The warmth and kindness of the Azerbaijani people stood out the most. From their friendly demeanor to their readiness to assist, they made my stay unforgettable.
I can’t help but feel that countries like Azerbaijan deserve more positive media representation.
Baku truly lives up to its nickname, the “City of Fire.” Its beauty and vibrant energy have left a lasting impression on me, and I hope to return someday to explore even more.
If you’re considering visiting, I wholeheartedly recommend it. You’ll be in for a delightful experience, just like I was.
