Stratus Consult CEO Applauds Gov Otu’s Vision in Environmental Sustainability

CEO of Stratus Consult Limited and Private Sector Representative NDC Partnership, Prince Xavier Eyamba, has commended Cross River State for its climate change initiatives.

Speaking on the backdrop of a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Oando Energy at the sidelines of COP 28 in Dubai, he hailed the move as a significant step towards advancing environmental sustainability in the Niger Delta region.

Eyamba, who described the MOU as a “right step in the right direction,” underscored its potential positive impact on the entire sub-region.

He commended the Cross River State Governor for the close to 1 billion dollar MOU, envisioning substantial contributions to the state and Nigeria’s overall economic landscape.

“Renowned as Nigeria’s greenest state, Cross River is making noteworthy strides in carbon sequencing.

“These significant MOUs, including a 100 MW energy project and electric vehicle infrastructure, align with the nation’s 2060 Net Zero target.

“This visionary approach underscores Cross River’s commitment to fostering a green economy,” he said.

Eyamba said the move signifies the state’s substantial investment in renewable energy and sustainable transportation, contributing to Nigeria’s broader climate goals.

“As Cross River State emerges as a pioneer in green initiatives, the billion-dollar climate pact is poised to reshape the economic landscape and advance sustainable development,” he said.

Eyamba also commended Oando Energy’s dedication to spearheading sustainable power initiatives, aligning with global efforts to transition towards cleaner and greener energy sources.

Oando Energy, under the agreement, will conduct a comprehensive technical evaluation to explore the feasibility of wind energy in Cross River State.
