BBYDI Signs MOU With SOBI FM On Climate Change, Gender Initiatives

A youth-focused civil society organization committed to sustainable development, Brain Builders Youth Development Initiative (BBYDI), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SOBI 101.9 FM, a leading private radio station in North Central Nigeria dedicated to community engagement and empowerment.

The collaboration aims to address the impact of climate change on rural women and girls in Nigeria through a community intervention initiative titled “Exploring, Amplifying, and Solving the Impact of Climate Change on the Lives of Rural Women and Girls in Nigeria.

“The initiative, which is set to make a significant difference in the lives of vulnerable communities, will feature a series of impactful activities, including:

Community Visit: BBYDI and SOBI FM will conduct a community visit to the targeted communities of Gbaradogi, Lade, Likpata, and Lafiagi.

This visit will provide an opportunity to engage directly with the community members, gain insights into their challenges and experiences related to climate change, and identify potential solutions.

Stakeholder Meeting: A stakeholder meeting will be organized to bring together key local stakeholders, including community leaders, governmental representatives, and experts in the field of climate change.

This collaborative discussion will facilitate the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experiences to develop sustainable strategies to mitigate the impact of climate change on rural women and girls.

Live Radio Show: SOBI FM will host a live radio show dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of climate change on the lives of rural women and girls.

This interactive platform will encourage dialogue, share success stories, and amplify the voices of those affected by climate change, creating a sense of collective responsibility and fostering community engagement.

Video Feedback Session: Following the community visit and stakeholder meeting, BBBYDI and SOBI FM will conduct a video feedback session.

This session will serve as an opportunity to showcase the insights gathered, present potential solutions, and seek feedback and input from the community members. It will ensure that the initiative remains community-led and addresses their needs and aspirations.

BBYDI and SOBI FM are committed to creating sustainable change by empowering communities to adapt, mitigate, and build resilience against climate change.
